CAPTAIN J.T. ESTEBAN Captain of the U.S.S. Grissom Captain Jonathan Thomas (J.T.) Esteban is Captain of the U.S.S. Grissom on this, her last voyage. A human male, age 52, Esteban is divorced and his permanent residence is in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Esteban is a competent commander, but is known to his crew as 'doubting Thomas' due to his firm belief in his own personal creed, 'seeing is believing'. He is also a man who believes everything should be done strictly by the book. Esteban is a close personal friend of Lawrence Styles, Captain of the new experimental transwarp vessel, U.S.S. Excelsior. |

Grissom portrayed by Dallas Teague Snider Vindi is Andorian, and surprised both her friends and family with her wish to pursue a medical career with Starfleet Medical. Her brother, Thirishar, entered Starfleet a few years prior to Vindi, and pursued a career in Security. Vindi is well-liked and respected by all of the crew of U.S.S. Grissom, and is very capable of 'handling' the by-the-book gruffness of Captain Esteban. She irritates him by her insistence on keeping a Terran dog aboard ship, her pet Pomeranian, Muggle. |

Fortunately, he returned to Vulcan for pon-farr, and thus avoided any involvement in the Khan Noonien Sighn incident. With the loss of the U.S.S. Reliant, he finds himself reassigned to U.S.S. Grissom. |

An inter-county rugby player, he decided to quit sports for a career in Starfleet. Christopher is the Communications Officer aboard the U.S.S. Grissom. Displaying an amazing skill at linguistics, he is fluent in French, English, Irish, Welsh, Scots Gaelic, Latin, and Spanish -- to name but a few. He is a close friend of Rebecca Sato and will often quiz her on her famous ancestor, Hoshi. Christopher spends as much time as possible in the ship's gym and is always keen to accompany any landing party. |

Saavik must now undergo a personal journey from sorrow and grief to emotionless logic. |

The 28 year old Spaniard hails from Cordoba, in Andalucia. Juan is transferred aboard U.S.S. Grissom to become part of the Security team following events at Cinera base. He is an excellent team player, but suffers from a fiery temper. He finds Clive Saunders socially entertaining, but is irritated by his lack of respect for the rules and regulations. Juan is viewed as a 'landlubber' by some of the crew of U.S.S. Grissom, given his recent Earthside posting at Starfleet Command. |
![]() | LIEUTENANT LARS THORSEN Security Ops Division Head, U.S.S. Grissom portrayed by Rick Pike Lars is from rural Västervik, Sweden. Although only 26, he is the Security Operations Divisional Head aboard the U.S.S. Grissom. He likes running, swimming, climbing, survival training in forests and tundra, and is incredibly fit. Lars is a professional and very protective of the individuals under his command, and he takes their security very seriously. Coming from a land of fjords and winter snows, he dislikes hot climates. He is on good terms with Stephanie Ottair, and he is one of the few people that she trusts. |

Graav is the head of the Special Services and Support Division which involves all of the support services for the diplomatic and day-to-day functions of the U.S.S. Grissom. Graav is friendly with Arunie Fernando, whom he treats as a younger sister, having served with her aboard the U.S.S. Endeavour (he personally recommended her as Captain's Yeoman to Captain Esteban). Graav also plays chess regularly with the like-minded, serious Cmdr. Stephanie Ottair. |

Paul is 28 years old and comes from Kent in England. His husband, Mark Atkins, serves aboard the Potemkin. Paul and Mark were married shipboard by J.T. Esteban, carrying on the maritime tradition of the Captain having the power to conduct a marriage ceremony at sea. Paul is a very efficient officer and heavily relied upon by J.T. Esteban. He works closely with Lars Thorsen, the Security Operations Divisional Head aboard the U.S.S. GRISSOM, and they make an excellent team. |

Grissom portrayed by Bodo Hartwig Brian Childers entered Starfleet Academy late in life, having first pursued a career in communications. Subsequently he was in his 20s before being accepted to Starfleet Academy. Brian is from New York, on the East Coast of America, but his Father was Irish and his Mother was German. Brian spent his student years studying communications in University in Hamburg, and is fluent in German. Brian was an Ensign aboard Grissom, but promoted to Lt. j.g. during the Genesis Mission. |
LIEUTENANT J.G. REBECCA SATO Helmsman, U.S.S. Grissom portrayed by Grainne Ahern Rebecca is the helmsman aboard the U.S.S. Grissom. Her ancestor, Hoshi Sato served aboard the U.S.S. ENTERPRISE (NX-01) and was instrumental in the development of the linguacode translation matrix. Rebecca, 28 years old, joined Starfleet due to her interest in deep space exploration and graduated top of her class. She is a gifted musician and singer, and can often be found entertaining her crewmates in the recreation room. Her husband, Robert Igoe, serves aboard the U.S.S. Excelsior (NX-2000) in Engineering. |

Murphy, single, vies with Lars Thorsen for the romantic attentions of Ensign Monica Gerber. Murphy trained at the Starfleet Medical Nursing Faculty, and is qualified in General, Paediatric Nursing and Midwifery, with a specialty in Trauma. Murphy has the complete trust of Dr. S'Raazh, with whom he enjoys a wonderful friendship. They regularly trade barbed comments, but all in good nature. Esteban finds Murphy's effusive nature a bit offputting and usually gives him a wide berth. |

Grissom portrayed by Hannah Klang Yeoman Fernando enlisted at age 17, not prepared to wait another extra year to enter Starfleet Academy at 18. She is from Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Earth. Arunie signed up directly to a posting aboard the U.S.S. Endeavour, and received basic training, as well as specific courses required for her clerical and administrative position. She is devoted to Captain J.T. Esteban, and a protége of Lieutenant Graav, with whom she served previously aboard the U.S.S. Endeavour. |
PETTY OFFICER 1st CLASS BACARI JATA Navigator, U.S.S. Grissom portrayed by William Raymer Bacari is the navigator aboard the U.S.S. Grissom, and hails from Dakar, Senegal. He is fluent in Madinka, French, and English. Bacari served on the U.S.S. Gallant prior to its destruction in the 'Wormhole Incident' (Stardate 8145.3) but was fortunate enough to transfer over to the U.S.S. Grissom prior to that event. Bacari is a good friend of William Bearclaw. |

She decided to join Starfleet at age 19, but was held back a year due to disciplinary infractions. She had been a cadet aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, but is reassigned to U.S.S. Grissom following the Battle of the Mutara Nebula. Now 21 years old, Kara is none too impressed with her new assignment, considering U.S.S. Grissom a definite step down after her tour aboard the Enterprise, which she considered 'thrilling.' |

Rachel is a very sincere and studious cadet, and takes her position in Starfleet very seriously. Whilst in Starfleet Academy, she was never one for parties, preferring to listen to jazz music at the many good music venues in San Francisco. With a strong Celtic heritage, Rachel’s parents being Irish and Welsh, she has a fascination in the Celtic culture and mythology, which extends to her interest in music and art from that period of earths history. Rachel is currently assigned to the Transporter Team and reports to Commander Ottair. |

When Lieutenant Saavik is reassigned to work on the survey of the newly formed Genesis Planet, Kirk and the U.S.S. Enterprise transport her to her rendezvous with her new assignment, the U.S.S. Grissom. Enroute, they meet up with Kirk's son, Dr. David Marcus. |

Esteban on all issues pertaining to the Genesis Planet, via coded Priority One communiqués. Morrow carried out the inspection tour of the U.S.S. Enterprise following the battle of the Mutara Nebula, effectively taking the ship out of service. He is intent on keeping the U.S.S. Grissom as the only ship in the Mutara sector, and to prevent Kirk from becoming involved in "a subject of galactic debate and controversy." |
![]() | ADMIRAL ALEXANDER McKNIGHT Chief of Staff, StarFleet Command portrayed by Keith Harris Alex was born in the late 20th century (in 1976). In his third year at the United States Air Force Academy, in 1998, he was on leave when he and his siblings (Michelle and Jason McKnight) ‘mysteriously disappeared’. In reality, it was a mysterious alien transporter, discovered by the U.S.S. Enterprise under Captain Robert April, that brought the three to the 23rd century, where Alexander and his siblings underwent re-orientation and education to adapt to life in the 23rd century. Alex McKnight was accepted for Starfleet Academy in 2252. With his U.S. Air Force training, he was able to by-pass most of his basic physical training but had to study quite hard to adapt to Starfleet life. He graduated at the top of his Academy class in 2256, earning a posting on the U.S.S. Hood. After a distinguished 25 year career in Starfleet, Alexander is currently Chief of Staff, Starfleet's Commander-in-Chief. |
![]() | CAPTAIN JEFFERY PIERCE Captain of the U.S.S. Hathaway portrayed by Brad Hathaway Jeffery Pierce was born in Ohio, North America, Earth. The death of his father when he was a child served as a driving force in his life which ultimately led to his entering Starfleet. Jeffery was initially assigned to the starship U.S.S. Potemkin in the sciences division, and specialized in astronomy, astrophysics and planetology. He eventually entered command training, with the sponsorship of Captain J.T. Esteban, and eventually attained the rank of Commander in 2277. He was then promoted to Potemkin's first officer, in which capacity he served for seven years until being promoted to Captain in 2284. He was one of many candidates considered for command of the U.S.S. Excelsior, but lost out to James Styles. Pierce was later assigned as the commanding officer of the second Constellation-class starship, the U.S.S. Hathaway (known as the "other great experiment"). |

Esteban, Larry Styles was a Starfleet officer in the late 23rd century. By 2285 Captain Styles was placed in command of the U.S.S. Excelsior (NX-2000) which was, at that time, a testbed for the experimental transwarp drive. Although he has a turbulent working relationship with Jeffery Pierce, he is still one of the close knit 'group of four' comprising Pierce, Esteban, McKnight and himself, who watch each others backs in the uncertain times plaguing the Alpha quadrant. |

Bearclaw displayed a distrust of non-human species in Starfleet Academy, which kept him from the command path. Bearclaw's father, John Bearclaw, Captain of the U.S.S. Gallant, died in the 'Wormhole' incident (Stardate 8145.3), leaving Bearclaw with a deep distrust and suspicion of Klingons. |

![]() | CLIVE SAUNDERS, Ph.D. Civilian Xenologist, assigned to U.S.S. Grissom portrayed by Will Dees Clive Saunders is a native of Poole, Dorset, in England. Clive studied at Oxford, England and carried out experimental field work in low-gravity situations at Tycho City on the lunar surface. Saunders is a freelance xenologist and is a former colleague of Dr. Carol Marcus on whose team of scientists he worked on the 'Genesis Proposal' up until 2284, when Marcus proposed the most ambitious and potentially dangerous of her plans to the Federation, dubbed ''Project Genesis.'' Once Marcus' proposal was accepted for Federation funding, Saunders left the project, fearing that it would be usurped by Starfleet for its own ends. Saunders reluctantly joins the U.S.S. Grissom at the request of Carol Marcus. |
![]() | MICHAEL LIEBMANN, Ph.D. Civilian Marine Biologist, assigned to U.S.S. Grissom portrayed by Michael Liebmann Dr. Liebmann is an American marine biologist assigned to U.S.S. Grissom and joins the ship at Pacifica, enroute to the Genesis Planet. Dr. Liebmann is fluent in several languages, and equally annoying in all. He has been working at the Cetacean Institute on Pacifica for the last several years, and previously worked at Starfleet Command, where he was a colleague and friend of Admiral Morrow. Capt. Esteban suspects this is the reason why Liebmann has been assigned to the Genesis Planet mission. |

According to the records of Cinera Base, he led a group of Deltans to the asteroid base to work on negating Deltan pheromones. Terlis instead has chosen to devote his wisdom to the mastery of genetic research, regardless of the consequences to any of his unwilling victims. Terlis possesses enhanced mental powers, but it is unknown if these are a genetic mutation of a result of genetic manipulation. Terlis’s contacts within Starfleet are unknown, but he definitely has clandestine Starfleet support for his vile experiments. |

![]() | RICK MONTAIGNE Singer, Hunter's Moon Bar, Star Base 67 portrayed by Seán Paul Teeling Rick is the resident crooner at Danielle Hunter's saloon and casino, 'Hunter's Moon,' on the promenade of Starbase 67. He is in his early forties and is a native of New York City. Rick worked the spacelanes as an entertainer on passenger cruise ships before falling on hard times after a fight with a disgruntled Orion, after which he lost the nerve to perform in public. Danielle Hunter had heard him sing on a cruise she'd taken aboard the 'Stellar Twilight' and met him again when he made his way to Starbase 67. With Danielle's encouragement, he began to sing again and is now the resident chanteur at 'Hunter's Moon'. |
